About us

Everyone experiences problems – sometimes they can be quickly resolved, other times it’s not that simple.

We can all face problems that seem complicated or intimidating. At Citizens Advice we believe no one should have to face these problems without good quality, independent advice.

That’s why we’re here: to give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem.

Citizens Advice Copeland is an independent charity which provides free, confidential, impartial, independent information and advice to people who live and work in the borough of Copeland about their rights and responsibilities.

We offer advice over the telephone, online and by appointment. We have offices in Cleator Moor and Millom.

We help people find a way forward – everything Citizens Advice Copeland does shares this aim

Advice and education: We provide integrated advice to solve individuals’ problems. We help people find a way forward, and develop the skills to prevent a similar scenario arising again.

Research and campaigns: We use our data to understand the impact of policy and regulation, and campaign for changes to solve collective problems. So, one way or another, we’re helping everyone – not just those we support directly.

How we work: We also create benefit to society through the way we deliver our services. This covers the social value of working with 40 volunteers, our role in this community and the benefits of being part of a national network.

As a registered independent charity we rely on the support of people like you to help us make a difference for thousands of local clients. Please give whatever you can afford to help us continue this invaluable service. Click Support Us to find out more.
